I love doing Dark art journal pages. I would love to see some art from others if they do it in their art journals!

Comment by Jackie Davidson on April 19, 2013 at 4:19pm I like your journal from the old book, Patti. I can soooooo identify with the subject matter of these two pages. I am trying to come to terms with those particular issues myself but am still struggling. Maybe that's another journal I need to do!!! :)
Comment by Jackie Davidson on April 19, 2013 at 4:16pm That is a great idea, Patti. Following a "character" never occurred to me. It might even be fun to make a journal in character about some mysterious historical figure (Mata Hari, etc). That would be challenging! As far as the "guilty pleasures in the South Pacific"...would you believe I thought of the song BALI HAI when I picked out that phrase? Too funny!

LOL Jackie, I think I have that same diagnosis..lol

Ooohhhhh Guilty pleasures... love it!!!
Comment by Patti Robinson on April 19, 2013 at 3:23pm I like to journal in old books. Some of my pages are pretty scary looking, like this one! I feel like I can pour out my darkest thoughts into an old book, but with a blank page I am more "artistic". I made a page about not being young & not being thin. The numbers on the right are about age & weight being "just a number".
Comment by Patti Robinson on April 19, 2013 at 3:18pm I especially love the found poem in the sky. I could see it inspiring a story, more pages, its own book. I might create the found poetry from the point of view of one character then follow his/her adventure. (A narrative.) I want to know more about the guilty pleasures in the South Pacific!
Comment by Jackie Davidson on April 19, 2013 at 3:12pm Thank you Ilysa...I need to practice that "one hour a day" suggestion to keep the flow going! :)
LOL Ann...is there such a thing as Artist Attention Deficit Disorder? I could be their "Poster Senior"! :)

Omg Jackie, I so get it.. you know I am still trying to find the "me" world with my art journals. I am all over the place.. I see an Idea that I love and want to do it, I see another one and add that in.. LOOK.. Shiny object!! lol
Comment by Jackie Davidson on April 19, 2013 at 2:22pm Thank you so much for the encouraging words, Ann. I have not seen that interview yet, so I need to put it on my to-do list. I'm new to art journaling, so I'm still trying to feel my way through it. Sometimes my pages turn out like I want them to, but most times not. I'm so used to producing art for other people, I'm still seaching for what really expresses "me".
Thanks for for the suggestion. Hopefully I can watch it this weekend for some inspiration!
Jackie
